Deliveries and riders
Add delivery riders, give each order a rider, and let the app plan the best route from the due times.
Steps
- Open Team, tap Add staff and pick the Delivery rider role. Riders only see My deliveries, nothing about sales or money.
- In Virtual shop, open Shop › Pickup & delivery. Set how fast you deliver (for example within 60 minutes), the rider's average speed and the minutes per stop. Turn on Auto-assign riders if you want orders shared out for you.
- Accept a delivery order, then pick its rider on the order or on the Deliveries tab. The rider gets a notification.
- The rider opens My deliveries. Their stops are in the best order, each with an ETA, the due time and an On time, At risk or Late label.
- The rider taps Open route in Google Maps (or Navigate for one stop), then Picked up when they leave with the order. The customer sees when it should arrive.
- At the door the rider taps Delivered and confirms the cash or M-Pesa collected. The sale goes into your books as usual.
Tips
- Closest first isn't always best. An order due in 20 minutes goes before a nearer one due in 2 hours, so the planner puts orders that would be late first and takes the shortest way round for the rest.
- Riders can tap Take on a waiting order nobody has yet.
- Tap Re-plan after a detour. The route is worked out again from where the rider is now.
- Orders without a map pin are listed by address at the bottom.
